• Metal-framed Dutch barns, dwellings and farmhouses are ineligible

What you'll do

Keep a traditional farm or forestry building (built before 1940 with traditional materials, still in agricultural or forestry use) weatherproof and in good repair using traditional materials. Check it each year, do routine upkeep within 12 months, and keep wildlife features for bats, owls and kestrels. Paid on the ground-floor footprint.

Evidence to keep

• Dated photographic records of the building's condition
• A written or photographic annual assessment
• Receipted invoices for maintenance work
• An ecologist's advice if bats are present
