SFI 2026
When can I apply for SFI 2026?
You need at least 3ha of agricultural land linked to your SBI to apply at all — but there is no minimum on the area you choose to enter into your SFI 2026 application. A farm with 50ha or less agricultural land counts as a small farm for Window 1.
Window 1 (June)
Opens 30 June 2026
Small farms (≤50ha agricultural land), or farms with no existing ELM revenue agreement. Closed 28 August 2026 (£60m budget).
Window 2 (September)
Opens 22 September 2026
All farms. Expected to open 22 September 2026 (DEFRA's announced date — check GOV.UK before planning around it). £230m budget; farmers whose ELM revenue agreement ends by 28 February 2027 can start an application early.
